Q&As with Tim Garner

Tim, you’ve been with AHT since 2007, but prior to that where did you work?

I worked for a tier 1 automotive supplier for Honda, Nissan and Toyota. I was the stamping supervisor.

What roles have you had at AHT and how has it helped you to be a more effective plant manager?

I started out as a General Laborer. Then moved to a lead position and from there, was made Manufacturing Foreman. A few years later, I became Assistant Operations Manager, and now I am Plant Manager. I think by starting where I did, it really helped me understand our full operation and what all goes into each step.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your free time?

Well, I love watching football. (Go Gators.) I also love hunting, fishing and kayaking.

What exciting things are happening at Cullman AHT right now?

First, we have an awesome team here in Cullman. The most exciting thing for me right now is expanding to a second shift.

What professional (or personal) accomplishment are you most proud of?

It would be earning the Plant Manager position here in Cullman to help the growth of our facility.

What is one thing people may not know about Tim Garner?

Well, I use to do mixed martial arts. I actually competed in several tournaments. I started in 1997 and still train occasionally.

What is one thing our customers may not know about AHT?

We really do care about every customer that comes through our facilities. Also, we have one of the largest nitriding units around - accommodating 9 feet in diameter and 20 feet in height. (Learn about our large size capabilities here.)
