Q&As with Trever Murphy

Trever, you’ve been at AHT since 2011. What brought you to AHT and why do you continue to stay?

I have been with the company since 2011. I was looking for a good career and my brother (Tim Garner) had already been working here for some time and he spoke very highly of AHT. I've stayed due to the family environment and the core values.

As a heat treat technician, what does a typical day look like for you?

As a heat treat technician, my day starts with doing vessel checks and then I get with my supervisor to see what we have going on for that day. After that, I get started on whatever task he needs done first which may be unloading or reloading machines or I might have to work on a machine.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your free time?

Well, I have three kids, so there really isn’t any free time. If I’m not at work, I’m at one ball field or another.

What’s one professional (or personal) accomplishment you are proud of?

Professional - leading the die processing improvements and cost savings project at Cullman AHT.

Personal would be my three healthy kids and a healthy wife.

Name a fun/interesting project you’ve worked on.

Several 6S projects, most interesting would be the automotive die processing area.

What is one thing people may not know about you?

I like to hunt and I like to work on drag cars.

What is one thing our customers may not know about AHT?

That everything we do at AHT is to make a better experience for the customers.
