Over 50 Nitriding & Nitrocarburizing Vessels Across Our Locations in Iowa, Alabama & Michigan
Advanced Heat Treat Corp. (AHT) has a wide array of nitriding vessels between its locations in Waterloo, Iowa; Cullman, Alabama; and Monroe, Michigan. This means we can accommodate a variety of part sizes and geometries. Whether it's a long feedscrew, tiny valves or large stamping dies, we have the equipment sizes to meet your needs. Plus, with multiple locations, there is always a contingency plan in place, mitigating risk.
This video was filmed August 2024. The speakers are Joe Patava (continuous improvement manager) and Lexi Springer (materials & quality engineer).
A Leader in Nitriding & Nitrocarburizing Since 1981
AHT's founder, Gary Sharp, has been recognized by The Monty as being "the man most responsible for making plasma nitriding a mainstream process in North America." The nitriding process was gaining popularity in Europe, and then Gary Sharp increased that visibility in North America when he founded Advanced Heat Treat Corp. in 1981, exclusively offering ion/plasma nitriding.
Since then, the company has grown to offer other services such as gas nitriding, UltraOx®, induction hardening, and more, but it still remains true that AHT may be one of the most experienced and skilled nitriders around - a worldwide leader.
Benefits of UltraGlow® Nitriding & Nitrocarburizing
Environmentally-Friendly
UltraGlow® is an environmentally-friendly application. No toxic salts or gases are used within the manufacturing process. Therefore, it's a safe and clean process that will be around for a lifetime.
Enhance Fatigue Strength and Save Money
Due to increased compressive stresses at the part surface, fatigue strength is improved five to ten times its typical "non-treated" life, dependent on the material and part design. Studies have shown fatigue strength is improved without distortion as compared to other surface treatments, saving customers money on fewer operations.
Improve Corrosion Resistance
UltraGlow's® case hardening processes can create a controlled white layer or compound zone which will improve a parts susceptibility to corrode or rust. This nitrogen enriched layer helps combat the elements and keep your parts looking fresh.
Excellent Abrasion Resistance
With UltraGlow®, surface lubricity can be enhanced tenfold. UltraGlow® nitriding will improve the overall wear and tear of moving parts within another assembly. Such results can save customers significant $$$ and time can be spent elsewhere.
